Every tea season begins with its first harvest. This is the moment tea makers look forward to.
Hagiri Organic Matcha “Suruga no Mukashi” is crafted from carefully selected first-harvest tea leaves grown in Fujieda, Shizuoka. The result is a smooth, balanced matcha with rich umami, natural sweetness and a clean finish with very little bitterness.
Where It Begins
Fujieda, in Japan’s Shizuoka prefecture, is one of the country’s most respected tea-growing regions. Cool mountain air, pure water and large differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures help the tea leaves develop their fresh aroma and full flavor.
Before harvest, the tea plants are carefully shaded. Hagiri then slowly stone-grinds the selected tencha leaves into an ultra-fine powder. This traditional process helps preserve the vibrant green color, smooth texture and fresh aroma that define the character of the first harvest.
In Every Bowl
A smooth texture, rich umami, natural sweetness and fresh green notes come together in every bowl. The clean finish and low bitterness make this matcha enjoyable both as a traditional preparation and as a creamy matcha latte.
