Think matcha is bitter or overly grassy? Think again.
Made from the Yabukita cultivar, Kakegawa Organic Ceremonial Matcha captures the classic taste of Japanese matcha. Rich umami, natural sweetness and a smooth finish come together in a balanced cup with very little bitterness.
The Classic Taste of Japanese Matcha
Yabukita is the tea cultivar most closely associated with traditional Japanese matcha. Its balanced and robust character has made it the benchmark for ceremonial matcha enjoyed throughout Japan.
Kakegawa Organic Ceremonial Matcha is grown in Kakegawa, one of Japan’s most respected tea-growing regions. Before harvest, the tea plants are carefully shade-grown. The selected young tea leaves are then traditionally stone-ground into an ultra-fine powder, helping preserve their vibrant green color, fresh aroma and smooth texture.
In Every Bowl
Every bowl delivers a balanced combination of rich umami, natural sweetness and fresh green notes. The smooth texture and clean finish make this matcha equally enjoyable prepared traditionally, as a creamy matcha latte or served iced.
